Rotella Oil Ktm, more Was wondering what oil everyone uses in this bike? I have only owned japanese bikes and have used rotella t6 in all of them because you can easily find it at Ive been running Rotella for 7yrs and never had a single oil related problem. It makes sense for KTM to recommend a specific oil and brand. However, any good quality fully synthetic oil from a major company will work. Just an update on the Rotella T oil change. Gearbox oil has no place in the transmission of a KTM 2 stroke. $15/gal for the T4 vs $50/gal for the Motorex changed the oil in mine used rotella. JW if it'd be ok to run in the raptor as well. Okay, what's up with Rotella oil in KTM motors? - Page 3 - 250-530 4 Stroke Enduro - ThumperTalk All Activity Home Forums Dirt Bikes Make / Model Specific KTM Motorcycles 250-530 4 Stroke Enduro Is my new 17 KTM 250 SX-F going to explode if I dare to use an off the shelf full synth 10w50 4t oil for $6 a quart vs the motorex $20 a quart? Who dares to temp the gods? Is this stuff just snake oil, or are Can someone explain how a oil formulated for diesel engines works in a motorcycle designed for wet-clutch operation? I've always used Mobil 1 racing 4T, which is I haven't started using Rotella in the ktm, although it works fine in my other bikes. From personal experience I found running this oil in my bikes RMZ and KTM, made them sluggish when the weather got hot. The previous owner ran Rotella T in the bike however I am unsure if it was T4,T5,T6 etc.
